On display: December 2022 - February 2023
This time, the exhibition from the series "Close Encounters with... is dedicated to some ways of fighting the plagues in the past ages. It features exceptional modern-era devotional objects from excavations carried out in Poznań by the Archaeological Museum and the Faculty of Archaeology of Adam Mickiewicz University. Their common denominator is the Caravaka (also known as the plague cross), which was believed to protect its owners against the plague. The exhibition has been prepared as part of the 18th Festival of Slavic and Cistercian Culture in Ląd on the Warta River, "Plagues and Medicine" (4-5 June 2022).
