When the Avars arrived in the Carpathian Basin in the 6th century, they encountered other human groups of different origins. One of those communities was represented by the people of the so-called Keszthely culture. At the exhibition of our series "Close Encounters with..." we display their interesting artefacts and introduce the culture of the Avar period in the Carpathian Basin.
