Project no. 2023-1-PL01-KA122-ADU-000127044

Project period: 1.09.2023 – 28.02.2025

Project coordinator: dr hab. Agnieszka Mączyńska agnieszka.maczynska@muzarp.poznan.pl

In the context of the current major social, economic and political changes, it is important for the Poznań Archaeological Museum that its offer responds to the dynamically changing society. Although a large part of our audience is made up of school children and young people, we see great potential in education aimed at adults, especially after the restrictions on the work of cultural institutions related to Covid-19. So far, our activities in this direction have revealed the need to broaden our experience in this area, to acquire and expand our qualifications and skills, and to observe best practices in this field. Educational mobility involving observation of work at the Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection in Berlin will enable us to meet the diagnosed needs. At the same time, it will allow us to build an educational offer that will attract new adult audiences to the Museum and create a centre for non-formal adult education related to archaeology and history.

The activities of the Poznań Archaeological Museum aim to broaden its audience to include age groups other than children and young people and families with children, in particular working adults, senior citizens and adult refugees/migrants looking for a new integration environment. The project will provide or enhance the qualifications and skills of the Museum's Staff responsible for educational activities in adult education, social inclusion and refugee programmes. The ecological transformation aspects of these activities will also be an important element. A new, diverse and inclusive adult education programme will also be created.

The Poznań Archaeological Museum plans to organise job shadowing at the Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection in Berlin for 7 people - employees of the Archaeological Museum in Poznan who are responsible for organising and conducting educational activities. In addition, two experts from the Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection in Berlin will be invited to the Archaeological Museum in Poznan. As a result of job shadowing and meeting the experts, a new and varied non-formal education offer for adults at the Museum of Archaeology in Poznan will be created based on universal and well-known issues of cultural and historical world heritage.

Through participation in the project, we want to ensure that our staff is appropriately qualified and skilled towards creating attractive, diverse, inclusive and pro-environmental educational activities for adults in accordance with concept of lifelong learning. We want to create a new educational offer for adults, including working adults, senior citizens and adult refugees/migrants.
