historia stanowiska: osadnictwo rozpoczęło się w IV tysiącleciu p.n.e. (osada kultury dolnoegipskiej) i trwało do epoki Starego Państwa; na trzech tellach (sztucznie uformowanych wzgórzach) odkryto osadę, cmentarzysko i część rezydencjonalną
cele projektu: rola wschodniej delty Nilu w procesie formowania się starożytnego państwa egipskiego
metody: prace wykopaliskowe, badania geofizyczne we współpracy z Tomaszem Herbichem z Instytutu Archeologii i Etnologii PAN w Warszawie, wiercenia geologiczne
historia badań: polskie wykopaliska poprzedziła ekspedycja włoska – Centrum Studiów i Badań Ligabue w Wenecji, która działała w latach w latach 1987 – 1990. Polacy działają w Tell el-Farcha nieprzerwanie od 1998 roku w ramach Polskiej Misji Archeologicznej do Wschodniej Delty Nilu.
