The exhibition of oil paintings "Not Only Sudan" offers a glimpse into life along the Nile. Over 13 years, from 2006 to 2019, artist Tadeusz Badowski accompanied archaeological missions as a conservator. In his free time, he captured life in Sudanese provinces through photography, which later became the foundation and inspiration for the paintings showcased in this exhibition.
Although Sudanese archaeology fascinated him, the main focus of his paintings is people. As the artist himself notes, "This exhibition is a tribute to the modest, cheerful people of Africa," adding, "It is not a documentary but rather a free interpretation of events and situations. It is also an attempt to capture fleeting moments, moods, and to fantasize on specific themes."
Tadeusz Badowski's exhibition is displayed in the courtyard of the Archaeological Museum in Poznań from October 19 to November 30, 2024. Admission to the exhibition is free. Entry is available via Klasztorna Street.
