Lascaux - paintings woven anew. A temporary exhibition

Lascaux - paintings woven anew. A temporary exhibition

The author of the tapestries presented in the Górka Palace in Poznań, Maria Gostylla-Pachucka, is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.

Her works are inspired by rock paintings discovered in 1940 in the Lascaux cave in southwestern France.

The technique the artist uses, i.e. combining different types of weaves, exposes the qualities of the material used and gives the overall impression of apparent simplicity.

Maria Gostylla-Pachucka's work comprises a collection of over 250 tapestries displayed at numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
